The Regency town of Sidmouth is the nearest town and an interesting place to visit for local shops, pubs and restaurants.It hosts an annual international folk festival which gathers musicians and dancers from all over the world.

Lyme Regis and its beautiful harbour 'The Cobb' and sunny
Seaton with its long promenade are nearby too.

There's an abundance of historical places to visit as well as many family
attractions for exciting days out.  There are city shopping centres as well as traditional small shops in local market towns nearby.

Nature lovers are well catered for with beautiful countryside, forests, heathland, moors,
coastal areas, bird and animal sanctuaries all within reach.

Surrounding Area:

Stoneleigh Holiday Park is set within the Jurassic Coast World Heritage area.  The Regency seaside town of Sidmouth is 2 miles away to the West and the attractive villages of Branscombe and Beer fall to the East.

There are many attractions to visit in the area that cater for all ages and interests, a few of which are listed here. Brochures are available in the chalet for many more!

Walking:
Stoneleigh has many footpaths leading from it.  The South Coastal footpath is immediately accessible and there are many walks in the local area including, cliff tops, beaches, wood and heathland.

Beaches:
There are shingle beaches accessible from hamlets, towns and villages nearby.  Beer is an interesting fishing village with a busy beach area.  Branscombe has a quiet beach whilst promenaders will enjoy the level walks along the seafronts at  Sidmouth and Seaton.  Sandy beaches for bucket and spade lovers are at Exmouth and Lyme Regis.

Riding:
There are several local stables which will take out guided rides for beginners and experienced riders.

Golf:
There are many pay and play courses locally with putting and a driving range within a mile from the chalet.

Donkey
Sanctuary: This sanctuary is adjacent to the park and open to the public on a daily basis - free of charge.  There is a restaurant within the sanctuary and easy access walks in the surround fields.

Norman Lockyer Observatory:
This is open to the public (check for opening times) and is your chance to look through a real telescope!

Zoo:
Further afield is Paignton Zoo which is about 1½ hours away.  An excellent family day out where you can get really close to the animals.

Dartmoor:
Dartmoor National Park is approximately 1 hours drive away.

Exeter:
The Cathedral City of Exeter with excellent shopping centre, museums and river frontage is 15 miles to the West.  M5 access is available here to link to the North and Wales.

Crealy:
This is a family adventure and animal park with lots of rides and attractions to keep the young ones amused.  A good day out even in bad weather.

Cinemas:
Sidmouth and Lyme Regis.

Pub Food:
There are many excellent local pubs that provide good food in the area.  The two pubs in both Branscombe and Axmouth are worth a mention!

Seaton Tramway:
These open top trams travel from Seaton to Colyton along the Axe estuary.  Beautiful views, a cream tea at Colyton and great for bird watchers along the way.
